Grant Featherston was an Australian furniture designer, born in Geelong in 1922. The unique contours of his chairs literally hug you as you sit in them, so it’s hard not to love them. They are always a pleasure to work on. We just completed full restoration, repair and reupholstery of this fantastic original 1950s Grant Featherston B210 TV chair for Anne-Marie from the NSW South Coast. This was a tricky one as the old curved ply base was completely rotten and required extensive repair work. Legs restored while retaining the natural age and patina. Fabric is Bolt Poppy from Zepel.

The fabric, a thick plush boucle from Warwick Fabrics is called Fabio Ivory. We repair and reupholster all types of egg chair shells including moulded foam shells, fibreglass shells and ply shells.

Restoration and reupholstery of an original iconic 2nd generation vintage Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman c1960-1971 for Louise from Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Careful revive polishing of the rosewood veneer shell. Recovered in full aniline top-grain black leather to match the original.

Restoration, repair and reupholstery of this awesome ORIGINAL 1950s Grant Featherston Chair for Marian from Pymble. Grant Featherston was one of Australia’s most iconic and well known furniture designers and this chair, known as “The Featherston Chair” is one of his most iconic designs. Marian found the chair on the side of the road many years ago and decided now was the time to get it restored back to its former glory. Unfortunately the original fabric could not be retained. New fabric is Flynn Peacock by Warwick Fabrics.

This suite originally belonged to Jane’s parents and she felt it was time to transform it into something special. The stunning rich golden vintage-vibe fabric is Mont Blanc Imperial from Zepel Fabrics

Fler SC55 armchair fully restored, reupholstered and recovered. Also known as the Rocket Chair, this chair is an iconic design from Fler. Fabric is Spartacus Scuba from Zepel.

Florence Broadhurst was an iconic Australian painter and textile designer. Born in 1899, her textile designs were recognised internationally and were somehow, ahead of their time. Cath from Waverton chose her design, Steps, for her 3 mid-century TV chairs. Fully reupholstered and recovered. We also converted the old covers into scatter cushions for Cath.
