Description
For sale is this magnificent pair of Don Televue coachwood TV chairs, dating from the 1960s. Beautifully restored, the chairs retain their original timber finish and colour, preserving the warmth and character of the period. The original timber frames were already in very good condition and have undergone a light restoration to refresh and preserve their authentic mid-century appearance. A standout feature of the design is the original chrome atomic feet.
Both chairs have been fully reupholstered using brand new premium foam and recovered in Spartacus Scuba fabric from the Zepel Fibreguard-Pro range, offering exceptional durability along with a rich textured finish perfectly suited to mid-century design.
Don Furniture, trading as Hyman Don & Son Pty Ltd, produced a range of distinctive Australian mid-century furniture during the 1950s and 1960s. Included in the listing is an original 1960s advertisement featuring the Don Televue chair (sourced via Pinterest). These chairs should not be confused with the separate Brisbane manufacturer Don Rex.
